“inemuri”

Inemuri
居眠り

To take a nap/ catnap

From Kirai.net.

I have to admit to my own guilt here, but the gentle rocking motion of the train just gets me.

OK, the dude in the scooter has no excuse.

UPDATE: Mea culpa. (That’s Latin for “my bad”)
I should have said “inemuri suru” since you add suru to this word to make it a verb.
Actually, “inemuru” is also another verb form here that you can use, but inemuri + suru is a more common form imho.

“inemuri” by itself is a noun. A catnap. A snooze.

In Japanese, many times (generally -u verbs) you can make a verb into a noun by putting it in it’s V2 form:

inemuru = to catch some zz’s, have a catnap
inemuri = a catnap

hanasu = to talk
hanashi = a talk, a story

Sore ja.
Inemuri shite shimatta
